Remember that one time I was going to get married and let these blog readers plan the whole shebang in an orderly fashion?
Remember that mythical posting schedule in which we’d have fun casting wedding votes in tidy posts bundled and delivered every Friday morning?
Remember the Titans?
Yeah, me neither
.
With a few unplanned hiccups (read: death and sneak-attacking holidays) interrupting Very Bloggy Wedding affairs, I’d all but forgotten that, indeed, time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’ into the future. That wedding day’s a’coming whether I’m two cough meds to the wind or not. This holiday season I am reflecting with gratitude on the major, major way you all have shown up and supported us with every Bloggy Wedding post. I’ll no doubt be merrily married in no time with your creative say guiding the way! With some exciting wedding posts lined up and ready to high-five 2012, I thought we’d take a look at recent progress for the littlest Big Day. Here, dear friends and faithful planners, are a few of your votes from 2011 come to life!

Fa-La-La-La-Flowers, ya’ll
Fabulous Etsy design shop Autumn Art took a cue from Ramblings readers and designed eclectic fabric bouquets and bouts for the entire wedding party! The dudes will be dapper in small, fabric rosette boutonnieres. Each rosette features tiny leaves curled from netting for a whimsical look.
The bridal party will carry monochromatic bouquets in pale blue. I handmade (read: glued fingers to lots of things) one, large white bloom to place in each girl’s bouquets. The centers are jeweled and offer a cool, personalized touch!
That just leaves my Mack Daddy Super Fly Turbo Max 5000 Bouquet. To keep things interesting, Autumn designed a cool blend of patterned and solid fabrics in several different floral styles. We will be adding a few brooches and jeweled thing-a-ma-bobbers soon!

Season’s Save The Date Greetings
So, the mail man still won’t wave after my dazzling public display of poor acronym-ing. STD’s (or Save The Dates) are complete and pretty darn neat. To save big bucks, we steered clear of the mass-produced, professionally printed products. I picked up mismatched Nashville postcards from a downtown tourist shop (getting the already inexpensive cards discounted by buying them in bulk). I purchased a custom rubber-stamp, one ink pad, and one calligraphy pen add got to pizzazz-ing those bargain-bin suckers. For a finishing touch, I used postage stamps personalized with a black and white photo of the Mr. and yours truly. In the end we spent about $45 on the project from start to finish and couldn’t be happier with the results!

Eight Maids A Primping
You styled my bridesmaids pretty when Coretta from Stella & Dot stopped by. The ladies’ white, strapless dress was under $50 from retailer New York & Company. I liked the idea of making as much of their wedding wardrobe wearable after the party. To dress up a pretty simple frock, you guys selected the Metropolitan Mixed Chain Necklace: a cool combination of charming, southern brooches and urban edge. Add some retro red heels, and the look’s complete for less than half the cost of the average bridesmaid’s dress!

Help A Needy [Ribbon Wall] this holiday season!
In dark, dank closet in western Tennessee, a lonely ribbon wall slumps in the corner, scared and alone. This holiday season, find it in your hearts to show some love to such an innocent, lowly thing.
Construction of The Very Bloggy Wedding Wonderwall is underway. I’m gluing and trimming and crowding up a master closet much to the chagrin of an Almost Mister. A display of eclectic ribbons is not that fascinating. We need your advice to make it complete.
A floor-to-ceiling collection of flowing ribbons will act as an interactive guest book at the wedding. Guests will jot down well wishes, advice, or, hell, objections to this barefoot union, and add their words by pinning notes to ribbon. You need to show them how it’s done, of course, so send your note, your cartoon doodle, your favorite lyric to a love song, whatever you like to

Please let the spirit of holiday giving fill your hearts this winter. A heap-o-ribbons’ happiness depends on it.

I trust you are doing a little better, at least. Remember – alcohol kills germs, and the most germs you are facing are internal.
